I've been a little flustered lately, as Blogger has decided to place ads on blogs... ads which are... nasty. I mean, who wants to see an ad of someone holding 10+ inches of their own belly fat? No one.
Every time I wanted to post something, I would get angry from seeing nasty ads, other which I won't even mention, but they do not compliment a children's picture book blog. Ugh.
On another note, I have been taking a little break. I have not written a single word in a while, because I have found myself wanting to read novels. I also needed a break from submitting manuscripts and waiting to hear from agents. For a while there I felt so stressed and I checked my e-mail roughly ever 3 minutes. No, I'm not kidding, it was that bad. So, before I go crazy, I just have to take a break and read more than write.
I hope all is well with you. Feel free to update me about your writing journey! :)

Writing Means Reading
Part of writing must include doing a little reading... right? Well, I've been doing a lot of that recently, but I don't always restrict myself to picture books.
A week ago, I checked out some PBs from the library, along with a book I've wanted to read for a while now. The Lovely Bones is a sad book, but one that grabs your attention within the first two sentences. It's one of those books that you struggle to put down. A book that causes you to sacrifice sleep, just so you can read an extra 50 pages. Now that I'm finished, I'm craving another grown-up book.
Do you read a lot of books outside the genre in which you write?
